Entries for Big Walk now open

Join thousands of Durbanites and enjoy this year's Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk.

ROUND up your family, friends and colleagues and get into shape in preparation for this year’s Discovery East Coast Radio Big Walk.

Entries for this year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, 24 May, are now open, and residents are encouraged to register early as there is limited space.

All four routes kick off at uShaka Marine World and will take walkers along a stretch of one of the most magnificent promenades in the country. The 20km distance – the only timed race – will start at 7am, the 15km will get underway at 7.45am, 10km walkers will leave at 9am while those taking part in the 5km distance will start at 9.45am. All participants will cross the finish line at People’s Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium. There will be plenty of entertainment for the entire family along the route, including clowns, jugglers and face painters.

“After all the recent accolades that Durban has received from both local and international media, we are simply celebrating the lifestyle that living in Durban affords communities,” said East Coast Radio’s marketing manager, Renée Burton.

Everyone who enters will get their own race number, a Discovery East Coast Radio T-shirt and a goodie bag. Three days have been set aside for you to collect your race pack. Make your way down to Moses Mabhida Stadium on 21 May (10am to 7pm), 22 May (10am to 7pm) or 23 May (10am to 2pm).

You can either register online on www.ecr.co.za or at selected Totalsports stores.
