Highway children battle it out in tennis tourney
Three pairs of siblings participated in the tennis tournament and either won a section or received the Sportmanship Trophy.
A FUN Wimbledon-themed doubles round-robin tennis tournament was held at Kloof Country Club by resident coach, Eddie McDonald, for children from the Highway area on Monday, 6 July.
Besides making new tennis friends, the players enjoyed exciting games and had fun.
“It’s always interesting to see how players manage against competition while improving their technique, together with good sportsmanship on and off the court,” said Eddie.
What was also impressive was that three pairs of siblings participated in the tennis tournament. Max Buchan and Ryan Browning were the winners of the B section, Oliver Fly and Connor Soulsby were winners of the A section and Carla van Aswegen and Kael Du Plooy received the Sportsmanship Trophy.
