THE KZN Breeders Dressage Challenge Awards took place at the Summerveld Training Centre Clubhouse, with forty riders and their families who took part in this year’s KZN Breeders Dressage Challenge in attendance.

The challenge, which started in 2014 to encourage and award thoroughbreds in dressage, saw an increase in entries this year with even more riders and their off the track thoroughbreds signing up to participate in the challenge next year.

Results were:

First- Ticket to Paradise – Cayla van der Walt, who also made the KZN Junior Novice Dressage team currently competing at the SA Junior Champs in Johannesburg.

Second – African Drum Beat – Jennifer Smith (owner Vanessa Gilks).

Third – Bella’s Magic – Adi Weerheim.

Fourth – Lagoon – Melissa Boulind.

Special Achievement Award – Bella’s Magic – for consistent performance and as a member of the KZN Adult Novice Dressage team which travelled to Johannesburg earlier this year.

The highest-scoring KZN-bred thoroughbred went to last year’s winner, Golden-Acres bred Centennial and Heather Cochrane.
