5-try blitz by Westville boys

WBHS won 15 games and only lost five during the fixtures for the day.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School (WBHS) played its first home fixture for the season on Saturday, against Johannesburg’s Jeppe High School.

From the first whistle the incredibly motivated 1st XV team played with intensity and focus.

The set pieces were good and the interlinking between forwards and backs spreading the ball saw the team scoring five tries on the day.

At the start of the second half they lost a bit of momentum and allowed a very determined Jeppe team back into the game.

As the second half progressed there were a few handling errors playing in Jeppe’s favour.

Late in the second half the WBHS team settled down and played like they started the game and ended with a good win over Jeppe and a good first home game fixture.

Try scorers of the game where Brogan Boulle, Dylan Coombe, Sheldon Veldsman and Dian Smith with two tries. Dylan Labuschagne converted four tries and a penalty. The final score was 36-24 to WBHS.

It was a good day for WBHS rugby with many teams playing good running rugby all over. WBHS won 15 games and lost five.
