En garde! Lunge to fencing comp

Supporters are encouraged to visit Kloof High School to learn about the art and sport of fencing.

THE Maestro Fencing Club will host a fencing competition at Kloof High School on Saturday, 7 October from 8.30am to 4pm.

The youngest fencer participating is 10 years old and the oldest is more than 70 years old.

“It is a sport that you can participate in for a long time and it is for both boys and girls. Fencing has been called the physical chess of the Olympics and is a highly interesting alternative to the traditional team sports,” said Martin Huse of Maestro Fencing Club.

Like the group’s Facebook page, maestrofencingschool, visit the KZN website at kznfencing.co.za. or speak to a member of one of the three active clubs in KZN to find out about the sport.
