WBHS beat Glenwood in five-game winning streak

The boys were commended on their positive result and mature display.

WESTVILLE Boys’ High School won all five basketball games against Glenwood last weekend.

Westville had to change their tactics in a sense as they were playing on an outdoor court. The coaching staff also opted to draft in a few new faces to the 1st team and the building process for 2018 kicked off this past week.

Westville took control of the game and found the opposition’s defense fairly easy to penetrate.

A 1st quarter score of 22-5 showed that the young team were keen to pile on the points against a seemingly weak opposition.

The boys remained focused and continuously ran their offense plays and worked on tightening up their defense.

Westville caught Glenwood and were dominant under their own hoop.

Some good rotations from the bench and a combination of experience and rookie excitement allowed the visitors to gain confidence and find Glenwood’s hoop.

Glenwood gained some confidence in the third quarter and were able to tally some points of their own.

Westville reacted swiftly by making some defensive changes that ultimately pressured Glenwood and allowed Westville to run to a 82-30 victory.

The WBHS 2nd team won 47-2, 16A team won 74-2, 15A team won 47-8 and 14A team won 32-9.
