Hole-in-one for Sunflower fund-raiser

At the prize-giving, two of the supporters walked away with 'fun-tastic' goodies.

IT was all smiles for participating golfers at The Sunflower Fund’s annual charity golf day, in association with Plennegy, at the idyllic Victoria Country Club.

Golfers were treated to bountiful goodie bags on arrival, chilled herbal water for the course, a great day of golfing and then onto a fun prize-giving and dinner.

All competing teams were awarded prizes and it was an excited Shivaun Earle who walked away with the enviable raffle prize of a wheelbarrow filled with snacks and drinks. Long-standing event supporter, Stan Carruthers of Antonic Electrical, clinched the main raffle prize of a STIHL high-pressure washer valued at more than R2 400.

Funds raised from the event will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness and education about stem cell donation as well as to recruit more blood stem cell donors. This is fundamental in offering the hope of life to patients suffering from life-threatening blood diseases.
