Young golfer wins Africa challenge
Highbury Grade 2 learner, Asher Hollister closed out the round strong finishing on 39 which was three over par for the final round and won by three strokes.

ASHER Hollister, a Grade 2 boy at Highbury Preparatory School, recently competed in the Junior Africa Challenge 2018 at San Lameer Country Club.
The event was hosted by SA Kids Golf and is the last year of the tournament being held at San Lameer.
It will now move further up in the country for a period of three years.
Asher played extremely well and he won the U8 age group. His father, Glenn Hollister said, “Asher worked so hard and had to dig very deep. It was a very tough course with position off the tee, approaching the greens and sinking putts were all key factors to do well.

“There were lots of unlucky bounces (which is golf) which made decision making extra tough.
Asher was trailing every day at the start, but on the last day he made a great come back and closed out the round strong finishing on 39 which was three over par for the final round and won by three strokes,” said Glenn.
This victory was extra special out of his three previous ones, as it was his last sanctioned tournament playing nine holes per round and the last Junior Africa in KZN before the tournament moves.
