Free softball classes for schools

Local schools are encouraged to sign up for free softball coaching sessions for its learners.

KZN Schools Softball encourages boys and girls at school level to take part in its new programme.

“It is a simple game for five or more players with the objective of participation, ball sports and fun. There are seven easy lesson planners with illustrations for teachers and coaches alike,” said chairman of the KZN Schools Softball, Tanya Price-Carr.

Its coaches will bring along their equipment, for free, throughout term 2, to teach children to play. BeeBall rookies is for children from four to six years old and BeeBall Majors is targeted at children between seven to nine years old.

The group will also host its first BeeBall Championship on Saturday, 8 June in Durban from 8.30am to 2pm.
