Entries open for CITYSURFRUN this weekend

When entering online, participants can also choose to support one of five local charity organisations.

Entries for the third annual FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN which will take place on Sunday, 13 October from Blue Lagoon, will open on Saturday, 1 June

In 2017, the inaugural event saw Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei smash the South African all-comers record of 27:55, set by Richard Limo in Port Elizabeth in 2004.

Joshua crossed the finish line in 27:28, the fourth fastest time in the world.

“Although only in its third year, the FNB Durban 10K CITYSURFRUN has delivered nail-biting performances,” said the managing director of Stillwater Sports, Michael Meyer.

“Runners (and walkers) can look forward to an action-packed 10km journey that highlights important landmarks and features exciting live entertainment compliments of Durban’s leading performing arts groups. The fresh sea air and magnificent ocean views will definitely add to the experience. Durbanites are invited to #RunDurbanTheirWay.”

The race will start at 7am at Blue Lagoon and the finish line is at the Beachfront Precinct, near The Bike and Bean.

A standard entry is R185 (licensed) or R215 (unlicensed), the gold package entry is R850 (licensed) or R880 (unlicensed).

The shut off date for entries is on Monday, 30 September.
