Step up for Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust, join home garden run
You can sign up to compete in the 5km, 10km, 22.1km and 42.2km races at home and help raise much-needed funds for the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust.
LACE up and compete in the Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust’s (HACT) Bambalela ‘Stay Strong’ Marathon Challenge on Monday, 13 April at any time between 1am and 11pm at home.
“Bambalela is a Zulu phrase that translates to ‘stay strong’. Here at HACT, it’s uttered often and has special meaning to our team as every day we strive to uplift and empower those who are most at risk. During these unprecedented times, our many health, education and skills development projects are needed now more than ever as we fight to support and strengthen the weak and vulnerable and mitigate the far reaching impact the Covid-19 pandemic is having on our families, communities and country,” said HACT’s marketing and fund-raising manager, Claire Hodgkinson.
There are four distances you can sign up for. It is R50 per person to compete in the 5km or 10km events and R100 per person to compete in either the 21.2 and 42.2km events.
Enter online before 4pm on Sunday, 12 April by paying your entry fee/donation at www.hillaids.org.za or via EFT or Zapper. You can also have your friends and family sponsor you online using www.backabuddy.co.za
Run in the confines of your own home, garden or property – but no treadmills are allowed. Participants can run or walk as long as the events are competed within the allocated time (21.1km in four hours/42.2kms in 7 hours).
