Kearsney claims double weekend wins
The Upper Highway School took on Westville Boys' High School and St Charles at the weekend.

KEARSNEY College’s 1st soccer team beat Westville Boys High School’s 1st time in an exciting match at the weekend with a final score of 1 – 0.
The game was played in wet, muddy conditions that made it extremely difficult for both sides. Westville had a number of skillful players who passed the ball around well in their build up, but were kept at bay by the solid Kearsney defence. Both sides had opportunities to score, but the goalkeepers from both teams made fantastic saves that kept the score at 0 – 0 going into the half-time break.
In the second half, the rain came down again and both sides were playing long through balls in an attempt to break and score. On one occasion, Kearsney forced the Westville goalkeeper to come out and clear the ball. It went to Lethu Ngidi from Kearsney, who lofted the ball into Westville’s open net.
Kearsney held on to this 1 – 0 lead by the time of the final whistle.
