Nad’s hosts local artists

Nad's Art Gallery and Picture Framing holds annual art exhibition.

THIS year’s Nad’s Art Gallery and Picture Framing annual art exhibition was opened on Wednesday by the director of the Durban Art Gallery Mduduzi Xakaza.

The exhibition was in aid of the Hokoyo Wildlife Foundation, helping rhinos, other wildlife and communities in Africa’s Southern sub region.

More than 50 artists displayed their work and 1, 200 paintings were on exhibition.

eThekwini mayor, James Nxumalo, who was at the opening, congratulated the gallery and artists for their incredible work.

“I am amazed by the paintings I have seen in this place, art needs to be marketed. I also live in Pinetown and I did not know there was an art gallery.

“Art is an important part of our history, it needs to be popularised, especially for children so that this country can produce many artists,” said Nxumalo.

The exhibition closes on Wednesday, 6 November, at 5pm.
