Pupils battle it out at schools challenge

HIP2B2 iThink ProNutro Challenge at Ushaka Marine World.

PUPILS from schools all over the country participated the HIP2B2 iThink ProNutro schools challenge.

The event was held to celebrate national science week, an initiative of the department of science and technology and included various activities taking place throughout the country.

The HIP2B2 iTHINK challenge is the brainchild of the youth initiative HIP2B2, founded in 2002 to promote the study of science, maths and technology-related subjects in order to develop innovative entrepreneurial skills and analytical thinking.

People, (both young and old), competed in a science and maths challenge, and were encouraged to participate in the HIP2B2 iThink ProNutro challenge at Ushaka Marine World on Saturday 9 August.

The public battled it out against pupils from the top KZN schools who participated in the challenge during the week.

They were tasked to partake in a series of challenging science and technology quiz questions and brain teasers.

Pupils also displayed hands-on experiments and science demonstrations for the public, including building crystal structures in a jar as the international science theme this year was Crystallography.
