Thieves break into NPO

The organisation needs someone who can assist them with the items that was stolen.

An NPO in Kwangcolosi is struggling after being robbed three times since it started operating.

Siyamukela Youth Organisation was started by Nomusa Dube in 2009, and it currently feeds 85 people, including orphans, disadvantaged children and adults who are on medication.

Dube said she started this organisations after the death of her siblings. “They left me with small children that I had to take care of. There are so many people who find themselves in that situation, and most of them cannot provide for the children, which is why I started this organisation,” said Dube.

Dube and her team have been very proactive, and obtained a refurbished marine container which they use as a kitchen.

Two months ago, thieves broke into the container and stole a new microwave and deep fryer which she had purchased in February, as well as cold drinks which had been donated to the organisation.

Dube said she used the deep fryer to make chips, which she sells to the local community to raise money for the organisation.

The organisation needs someone who can assist them with the items that was stolen, and any other assistance will be appreciated. Contact Nonhlanhla Dube on 082 223 6411.
