BUILDING Back Together for Peace and Prosperity is the theme for the United Nations Day celebrations that will take place on Sunday, October 24 in Durban.
eThekwini Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda said that hosting these celebrations was a catalyst to strengthen cooperation and relationships between the city and all of the UN agencies that work in South Africa.
“As the leadership of the city, we are committed to work with the United Nations to find lasting solutions as we continue to rebuild damaged infrastructure, accelerate economic recovery and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Kaunda.
He added that the city’s partnership with the UN is critical for the province’s efforts to build enduring peace and advance sustainable development.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde
My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
