Pinetown resident appeals for the return of her pansy-shell pendant

A pendant in the shape of a pansy-shell was lost recently at a popular Pinetown market. The owner appeals to the public for information.

PAM Killian appeals for the return of her pendant, which has deep sentimental value.

Killian attended a market at Doone Village Retirement Centre on October 1, when she lost her gold pansy shell pendant.

The pendant was a gift from her daughter 25 years ago and was ordered from a jeweller in Jeffrey’s Bay. Killian’s daughter and granddaughter wear the same pendant and pansy shells were featured on her daughter’s wedding invitation. According to the Manors resident, pansy shells have played an enduring role in her family narrative.

Killian noticed her pendant was missing in the afternoon following the market and upon retracing her steps at the neighbouring retirement village, it transpired that a passer-by noticed the lost pendant near the jewellery stand and handed it to the stall holder who erroneously believed it to be part of her vintage and second-hand accessories stock. The pendant was sold to a regular client of the jewellery stall, shortly thereafter.

Killian is sending out a public appeal to the person who bought her treasured pendant to contact her to discuss the potential return of her jewellery item.

Killian can be contacted on 084 266 7866.
