Katlehong police conduct safer school programme at Mpontsheng High School

The team's main focus was to monitor late coming, and bullying and have a talk on teenage pregnancy.

Katlehong SAPS Social Crime Prevention coordinator Sgt Nkonkoane with the sector managers sergeants Senoa and Makeke conducted a school safety programme at Mpontseng High School on April 13.

The communications officer of Katlehong South SAPS Capt Mega Ndobe said the team’s main focus was to monitor late coming and bullying and have a talk on teenage pregnancy, as well as ensuring all learners enter school premises properly dressed, without illegal substances such as drugs, dagga and dangerous weapons.

Police encouraged children to report any form of abuse to the educators and the police or to anyone they trust.

The deputy principal of the school appreciated the presence of the police and the assistance in addressing safety in the school and requested regular visits from the police.
