Learners enjoy trip to Durban
'Trips are effective and reflective when it comes to real learning'
NEW Millennium College undertook an educational trip to Durban from August 28 to 30.
The trip, organised by vice principle Albert Gumbochuma, was a wonderful, adventuresome and educative one and the first long distance one undertook by the school.
The objective of the trip was to apply and reinforce the concepts that learners do in class. This was achieved as geography, economics, life science and tourism were practically taught to learners.
“For learners to achieve, they need motivation,” said Gumbochuma.
This theory was proven when they visited the dolphins at Ushaka Sea World. Dolphins were performing various tasks and were given incentives in the form of food.
Gumbochuma said the same applied to learners: “Our learners need positive remarks when they do well. Trips are effective and reflective when it comes to real teaching.”
