Disability centre receives donations from Hollywoodbets
Centre manager Zandile Ndhlovu is thankful for the company’s generosity
Team Members from Hollywoodbets Kempton Park recently visited Sithandiwe Disabled Care Centre to deliver a gas stove, home theatre system, freezer, four children’s tables, 20 children’s chairs and four child-size wheelchairs.
Sithandiwe is a charity organisation that helps disabled children from the Alexandra and Tembisa townships by providing daycare, as well as a residential facility.
It first opened its doors in 2006 when Thandi Ndhlovu, a physically disabled woman who championed the rights of those living with disabilities, saw the need for an organisation like this.
The organisation teaches those in their care various skills, including sewing and bead work. They care for children between the ages of three and 18 that are living with various disabilities.
Centre manager Zandile Ndhlovu is thankful for the company’s generosity.
“We are grateful for the donation. Our children will now have chairs to sit on as well as wheelchairs. We will now be able to take them around outside the centre for a walk. We will also be able to buy more meat and keep it in our new freezer, we always had only one freezer for forty children so this is really great,” she said.
