‘Mysterious’ house fire guts three rooms in Terenure cottage
No one was reported injured but a man and his pregnant partner went to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Mystery surrounds the cause of the fire that engulfed three rooms of a cottage flat in Terenure on Wednesday morning.
Although no one was injured, two people, who are believed to have been in the house when the fire started, went to a doctor to be treated for smoke inhalation.
“The two are tenants but no one knows what caused the fire. There was no electricity when the fire broke out,” said Simphiwe Dube, station manager at Kempton Park Fire Station.
“Investigations will establish the cause of the fire.”
Kempton Park Fire Station and Commercia Fire Station from Tembisa responded to the fire that started just before 10am.
