Sponsorship would assist summer fashion show

Kasi fashion designers struggle due to lack of financial support.

Actor/fashion designer Thokozani Dlamini believes local designers are not getting enough support from local businesses.

The fashion designer is an organiser of the annual kasi Summer Fashion Show, which is coming up on December 14.

“This will be our second annual event. The first one could have been better, but due to lack of financial support we had to pay for logistics from our own pockets. To attract more models we need to pay them and it is difficult when there is no budget,” said Dlamini.

He is appealing for sponsorship for his upcoming event and he is inviting more designers to take part in the Summer Fashion Show.

Dlamini holds a diploma in speech and drama but he got bitten by the fashion bug. He said his designs are tailor-made for each individual to suit their own styles.

“The people I have designed for are very happy with my work and I hope to grow my brand, which is called Phase. My style is meant for anyone who walks the kasi streets”.

He said he would like to see his brand spread out to cover the entire African continent.

Anyone who would like to sponsor and make the Summer Fashion Show 2019 a success can contact Dlamini on 072 224 1387.

Thokozani Dlamini organised the Summer Fashion Show 2018 edition.
