ACDP to support Women’s Month with self-defence workshop

The self-defence workshop is free to attend for women and children.

In celebration of women this August, the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) will host a self-defence training workshop on August 31 from 9.30am to 3pm in Van Riebeeck Park.

Head organiser of the event Willem Roos said: “The course is on how to handle a home invasion and is free to women and children.”

Men who wish to take part in this initiative are welcome to attend at a fee of R50, which can be paid upon entry.

“To me it’s important to host such initiatives for Women’s Month as we need to empower them and their children in a crime-ridden country,” said Roos.

The instructor is Rachel Sandford (19) from Elite Defence Academy Warrior Women.

The training will take place in the church hall of the NG Church Hoogland on De Wiekus Road.

For more information, call Roos on 066 250 1908.
