An emotional memorial service was held for Charl Naudé on Friday morning
Many attended the memorial service of Charl Naudé at Kaleideo Church on Friday morning morning.
The real estate agent died after a head-on collision between his motorcycle and a Ford Fiesta on Monument Road on September 1.
According to Naudé’s stepson, Gideon du Preez, they were both riding alongside one another on their motorcycles on their way home from Pretoria.
“We both stopped at the red light at Woodbridge Square. We said goodbye as I turned into Fiskaal Street on my way to church.”
Little did he know that Naudé would die only a few 100 metres from there. Naudé’s body was found metres from the scene of impact.
Naudé’s wife’s cousin, Cindy Brits, earlier said: “Charl was a straight forward, comfortable guy and he got along with everyone and was a very supportive person. One simply cannot utter a bad word about him. He was a family and God-fearing man who served the Lord. His family and friends meant everything to him and his job was very important to him. He always gave more than was expected.”
Brits also mentioned how Naudé had only recently been introduced to the hobby of motorcycles.
“He only had his bike for about four months and his wife got hers merely a month ago. Since they started biking together, she had told him it’s too boring riding on the back all the time.”
Brits said on the night of the accident he had returned from Pretoria where he was taking his son to a bus stop to return to his school in Brits.
