New awards to recognise inspirational women
Rise Up Woman focuses on women empowerment and community upliftment
Mrs Africa 2020 finalist Thembi Monametsi has launched the Rise UP Awards through her non-profit organisation called Rise Up Woman.
The awards form part of her charity dignity drive, where she raises funds for different charity organisations and charitable deeds.
“These awards seek to recognise and celebrate women who have committed time and energy to create real change in their field of work and communities and are using their influence and deeds to achieve great things,” explained Monametsi.
Rise Up Woman focuses on women empowerment and community upliftment.

“In the organisation we have a unique way of reaching out to women who need to make peace with their past and maximise their present by deepening their relationship with God.
“I am driven by my experiences and insights. I use both these influences to help every woman I encounter to bring out the best version of themselves,” she said.
In 2017 she published a book titled Rise Up Woman which gave birth to the non-profit organisation of the same name.
“You can nominate any woman who has made a positive impact in your life and community. The categories include Inspirational Woman, Woman in Media, Community Champion, Youth Empowerment, First Lady and Social Media,” explained Monametsi.
She said the awards will be held in February 2020.
Nominations can be sent to thembi@riseupwoman.co.za or thembimonametsi@gmail.com
