Law enforcers conducted a search for illicit substances at Ekurhuleni West College (EWC) on Pretoria Road on Tuesday.

According to metro police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, the search took place from 10am to 1pm on request of the institute’s management.

The metro police’s K9 and social crime prevention units, traffic wardens and police officers were involved.

“Classes, students and their backpacks were searched. Police officers found three zip-lock bags of dagga, one rolled dagga (zol), one lighter, two pairs of scissors, four boxes of matches and two Rizlas,” said Mokheseng.

All the items confiscated were sealed and booked in at Kempton Park Police Station. No one was arrested.
