Family seeks answers after toddler was found dead in boot

It is still a mystery how a three-year-old child ended up inside a car boot

The family of the three-year-old boy who went missing in August is still in shock after the child’s lifeless body was found in a car boot last week Friday.

This paper reported about two weeks ago about the family’s plight and ever since the news broke the residents of Madelakufa Section have been searching non-stop for him.

The search came to an abrupt end last Friday when the boy was found dead.

Still traumatised, the family is seeking answers and vowed to leave no stone unturned into finding the truth.

Terminator Miyelani Khoza was found dead on Friday afternoon last week.

“It is still a mystery how a three-year-old child ended up inside a car boot. As a family, we are aware that the police are still busy with their investigations and we will afford them that space to investigate, but that will not stop us from looking for other clues.

“It is obvious that the child was abducted and killed, and as to how he ended up inside a car boot is a question for another day,” said Paolos Manyike, the family’s spokesperson.

“We would like to applaud the police and the entire community who have been with us from the first day the child was lost until he was found. I have seen many people, including community leaders, coming to the party and help us search for the child. We would like to appeal to anyone with information to come forward and help us and the police get to the bottom of this matter,” he appealed.

Community leaders Simon Lekaka and Jeremiah Maraba voiced their concerns about the safety of women and children in the area.

They called for calm and appealed to the police to provide working tools for community patrollers and members of the community policing forum.
