Mrs Africa finalist advocates for education
She is competing at a continental and ultimately at a global level.
Thando Lamula-Shirinda, Mrs Africa 2020 finalist, will be hosting a High Tea for Dignity to raise funds for school shoes and tertiary application fees at African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel on September 28.
The high tea will raise funds for identified learners from Ebony Park Primary School in Ivory Park and tertiary application fees for Grade 12 learners from Thandukwazi Secondary School. Lamula-Shirinda is a proud wife and mother to a beautiful daughter, Nkateko Shirinda. Lamula-Shirinda clearly defines the phrase “beauty with brains” as she holds four academic degrees, her latest qualification being a master’s degree in taxation laws.
She is an international tax specialist and a non-executive board member of the South West Gauteng TVET College.
The mother is a founder of an educational foundation, the Sui-Generis Foundation Trust, to help the underprivileged.

Lamula-Shirinda says among other things, the purpose of this foundation is to provide educational enrichment and support, and the provision of scholarships, bursaries, awards, research, training, CV drafting, career guidance and various outreach programmes for the poor and needy.
“For the purpose of pursuing my philanthropic calling, I entered the Mrs Africa pageant and it is with great pleasure to announce that I am a finalist in the competition.
She is competing at a continental and ultimately at a global level.
Lamula-Shirinda said she believes this pageant will empower her to learn and bring back the experience to grow her foundation and contribute in vast platforms in South Africa.
“I am really grateful to Africa Pageants as it has given me a great platform and an opportunity to pursue my philanthropic calling, not just locally but at a continental and at a global level. It is my dream to produce international graduates and global citizens.”
“I believe that I am a woman of many skills. I am an activist for human development, a motivational speaker, a trendsetter and a pioneer.”
In addition to her works through the Sui-Generis Foundation, Shirinda has extended her hand to Miss Ivory Park Refined pageant by motivating and coaching young girls. Furthermore, through Africa Pageants, Lamula-Shirinda also funds a re-usable sanitary towel drive to the underprivileged.
The finalist would appreciate if she can be assisted with donations in the form of school shoes to pursue her journey of helping to restore the dignity of the underprivileged. Her theme is ‘Can a woman attain a work-life balance in the new era?’
