Jay to host birthday fund-raiser for orphans

Each ticket holder will be afforded a free lunch by Hodari Ghaolo Solutions

Johannes Jay Pila (27), the founder of Jay and Young Enterprises, invites you to the Jay Day birthday fund-raiser in Tembisa on November 2.

The fund-raiser is being held in support of orphans.

A speaker, coach, student and father of three, Pila said: “I hereby wish to rally your support in this attempt to celebrate my birthday differently by giving instead of receiving. The orphanage is still to be announced, with a few shortlisted already.

“We promise you nothing but good music, great company, fantastic food, and fun activities fit for the entire family. The event will be hosted at an orphanage and will be centred on raising funds for the home while creating new memories for the resident orphans.

“Each ticket holder will be afforded a free lunch by Hodari Ghaolo Solutions, a food solutions company I co-founded with a group of hospitality students who are passionate about food and making tummies happy,” said Pila.

“Needless to say, the food will be first class and entertainment will be provided by local stars on a voluntary basis.

“Come see the best of Tembisa and Ivory Park’s talent. Bring the entire family and enjoy the artistic genius of, among others, Grind Addikts, Double Blacks, Bubu Binca, Mphokuhle, Robert Smallz (WC), Nguni Heru, Spheyzo, and comedian Obakeng Wa Mopedi.

“Tickets range from a gift only to R50 + gift/donation (general) up to R100 + gift/donation (VVIP). We accept gifts ranging from kids’ toys to kids’ books, clothing items and other basic needs. All profits from ticket sales, donations and gifts to be donated to the home and shared among orphans. Secure your ticket today,” said Pila.

Pila said he was raised by a single mother who died when he was 14 years old.

“I know what it is like to not have parents. I know what it feels like to have no one to cry to. Fortunately for me I was reacquainted with my father.

“This event is hosted by KillerEvents, a division of my company.

“As an events planner myself, the best way I could give to the kids is through what I know best: planning an event they would never forget. This is a complete fund-raiser and as such I am not invested in this event financially but emotionally. Buy a ticket to show support. A lucky couple stands a chance to win a weekend away with two lucky orphans. Let’s give those without parents a rare experience and feeling of going away with parents.”
