How to report a car accident online

If you were involved in an accident, you can now report it online for insurance purposes.
Depending on certain criteria, it is no longer necessary to report minor accidents at a police station.
Only accidents where no-one sustained any injuries or had died can be reported on the National Traffic Information System (NATIS) website.

The following criteria apply:
1. All accidents must be reported within 24 hours of occurrence.
2. The system will provide the user with an automatically generated Crash Report Number (CRN) for insurance claims.
3. The system will only allow for the reporting of minor damage accidents.
4. Accidents which include a person or persons being injured, killed or involved in hit-and-run accidents must be reported immediately to your nearest police station.
5. All accidents involving five or more vehicles must be reported at your nearest police station.
6. The information submitted by you can be made available to your insurance service provider.
