Zwane is crowned Miss Phenomenal 2019/2020
She said in the same competition last year, she was among the top three contenders for the crown.
Gugulethu Bianca Zwane took the Miss Teen Phenomenal South Africa 2019/2020 title on October 5. The 19-year-old was crowned the queen at Apollo Hotel in Randburg.
Of her win, the Mayibuye-based lass said she is setting her eyes on accomplishing more in the future.
She said winning the title felt like a dream at first, even as she was about to pocket R5 000 as prize money.
“For me, the title made me realise that if I put my heart to it, I can accomplish more. Giving up on my dream is never an option,” said Zwane.
She said in the same competition last year, she was among the top three contenders for the crown.
“It is never been about winning but more about being an ambassador for such a wonderful and well organised pageant,” she said.
“This is one of the reasons I prepared myself thoroughly this time through the assistance of my mentor, Beverley Lerato Madia, who was the Miss Soweto finalist for 2019,”she said.
She admitted the finals were tough, but she was resolved there was nothing she could not manage.
For this competition she said she had to raise funds.
“I went out to the Mall of Africa and asked for donations from every stranger I came across. I was able to raise some money, and so appreciate everyone who made a donation to my campaign,” she said.
“Voting went well with my supporters, and I am grateful for the support they gave me,”said Zwane.
Zwane works as an assistant facilitator at iCollege and is studying a short one year course in corporate law with Unisa.
“My next focus is to enter Miss Teenager SA, and to register for an LLB programme with Unisa,” she said.
In addition, Zwane intends to attain a qualification as a flight attendant, and is grateful to her mother for what she has so far achieved.
Previously Zwane won Miss Glamorous Charity Ambassador 2019, Miss Natural Midrand 2018, Miss Birchleigh 2019 finalist and Miss Morning Star first Princess 2019.
