Tembisa’s load shedding schedule for Saturday

Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 9am to 11pm

While Eskom’s emergency command centre is meeting on Saturday morning to discuss the way forward, stage 1 load shedding will be implemented on Saturday from 9am to 11pm.

During the meeting progress made overnight will be assessed as well as the prognosis for the rest of the weekend and next week.

Eskom said on Friday evening that the system remained under severe pressure with several generating units still out of service. Recovery efforts are underway to fix coal handling issues at Medupi and to expedite the return of units with technical problems.

“We hope to have recovered adequately by Sunday so South Africa can enjoy watching the Springboks playing in the World Cup,” said Eskom.
