Help for drug addicts is available

A number of drug addicts showed interest when they came to the event to register their names

New Life Academy hosted the launch of Rehabilitation of Drug Addicts at Ivory Park North Hall on October 20.

The religious organisation deals with the physical, emotional and mind-state of each individual in a two-hour rehab programme every day once they enrolled.

A number of drug addicts showed interest when they came to the event to register their names. Pastor Dennis Aduboffour said the organisation is a Christian rehabilitation organisation which first focus on the spiritual aspect.

“The physical aspect is the second stage, first we focus on their minds so that they can function normally again, after achieving that we offer skills training. This is because with patients you may find that they have been to several rehabs but relapse soon after because they lacked things to do,” said Aduboffour.

“We aim to transform people lives who will stand in the testimonial and say ‘I have used’. We have individuals that successfully completed our programme and will attest to its success. We have a former addict who got married in January this year and another which is attending Ekurhuleni West College, Tembisa Campus,”

“When we started the rehabilitation programme we directly approached individuals but now we can offer them transport and free meals during two-hour programme every day or every session they attend,” said Aduboffour.
