Ms Africa Elite 2019 from Ivory Park breaks all boundaries
Ms Africa Elite 2019 from Ivory Park shares her journey from the township to Canada.
Naledi Ramaboea, African multi-titleholder, shared her success with her fans and thanked them for their support through the journey from Ivory Park to Canada.
The philanthropist, aspiring humanitarian, founder of the Boitshoko Naledi Ramaboea Foundation grew up in Ivory Park.
She also holds the titles of Miss Africa Elite 2019, Miss Africa Elite United Nations 2019, Miss Elite Face of Africa and Dignity Dreams Queen 2019. She was recently afforded the opportunity by her national director, Carolyn Botha, to represent South Africa at the United Nation International Pageant in Canada, where she was crowned as Miss Ambassador United Nation International 2019/20 and Miss United Nation International first runner-up by the UNIP director, Jessica Thompson-Clarke.
The crowning ceremony was held at the Zoetic Theatre in Hamilton, Canada, on August 24. There were 25 delegates from all over the world who came to compete and represent their countries and continents, namely, Africa , Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, North America and Canada.
Pageant week kicked off on August 21 with orientation, fun activities and outings at the Niagara Falls, rehearsals and the Queen’s Gala Dinner. The pageant had four judging areas: national costume, evening, fashion and interview, which contributed 45 per cent towards the overall score.
Ramaboea said it was truly an honour to represent her beautiful South Africa and the continent on an international stage with pride, grace, poise and confidence.
“I would like to thank family, friends and supporters in Ivory Park and Rabie Ridge for the love and overwhelming support during my journey.”
The United Nation pageant focuses on volunteer work and each contestant had to be a volunteer in their communities.
Ramaboea was crowned as the Ms Ambassador United Nation International because of her outstanding volunteer work in her community.
“This is a special title that is reserved for high-quality contestants who go outside of the norm. The contestant who went above and beyond to promote herself, the pageant as well as fund-raising efforts.
“The ambassador will continue to represent the United Nation International Pageant until her reign ends in August 2020,” says Ramaboea.
“The message I would like to pass to the youth is always that they need be true to themselves and believe they are capable of achieving anything they can set their mind to,” concluded Ramaboea.
