Panorama School learners’ crafts to be sold at first market days

Kempton Panorama School is holding its first-ever market days on Friday and Saturday, where they will be streaming the Rugby World Cup Game on a big screen and offering a range of products crafted by learners.

Kempton Panorama School will host its first-ever market days on November 1 and 2 where they will be exhibiting learners’ handmade products.

A highlight of the day will be the screening of the Rugby World Cup final on a big screen.

Food stalls, arts, crafts, home-made goodies and a tea garden can be expected on the Panorama school grounds.

Mariska van Deventer, organiser of the event, is very excited to be hosting the market.

“We hope to involve our local community in raising funds for our annual school transport and clothing programme.”

She said it’s encouraging for the learners to see that the products they made have retail value.

Deputy headmaster Alex Thorpe said: “The market day, together with the skills development, is an ideal platform to build future entrepreneurs and to teach learners to contribute to the economy and the community.”

Panorama’s principal Dimitri Theron said he was proud of the hard work the teachers and learners had invested in the project and hoped to make this market day an annual event.

On Friday the market day will commence at 7am and last until 5pm. Saturday’s programme will start at 8am and end at 2pm.
