Zamokuhle Private Hospital hosts wellness day
Tembisans treated to a free pass on medical tests and education in Zamokuhle Private Hospital.
Zamokuhle Private Hospital hosted a community Wellness Day at the hospital’s open ground on November 2.
The aim of the event was to create awareness to the community about illnesses that may hamper their health.
Zamokuhle Private Hospital stakeholders relations manager Nobuhle Linda said doctors, nurses and support staff were on site to provide a variety of health and medical advice.
“Some of the topics that were covered at the event were oral care, hypertension and diabetes, HIV, renal care and advance-wound care among others.
“Bophelong Fitness Club graced us with their presence to emphasise the importance of exercising to improve your health. Thank you to all our doctors, nurses and support staff who participated at the event,” said Linda.
“We look forward to hosting similar events for our community of Tembisa,” added Linda.
Margaret Baloyi from the peri-operative information desk said they educate the community on the importance of not eating and drinking six hours before an operation.
“When we incubate a patient, there is a possibility that when they have eaten or drank something they can aspirate during the process. When they aspirate, it can lead to medical complications, causing ammonia or even death,” said Baloyi.
