Thandolwethu Shabangu crowned queen of Miss Face of Winnie Mandela

Pageant honours the late Winnie Mandela.

The second annual Miss Face of Winnie Mandela 2019 was hosted at Winnie Mandela old clinic at Winnie Mandela, Extension Three, on Saturday.

Organiser Ernest Ndlovu said Miss Face of Winnie Mandela is a beauty pageant that aims to uplift the community to be in a better place. He added that it mainly focuses on the legacy of Winnie Mandela, which they are trying to instil in future leaders, who are the models.

“Miss Face of Winnie Mandela was first launched on October 26, 2018. We are glad that it was a success as well this year because all the models went all out to do their best. Also, everyone who came through to help us organise this event really did a great job, and we would like to send a special thanks to them,” said Ndlovu.

The senior winners are Thandolwethu Shabangu (queen), Nonhlahla Ramaru (first princess), Bongekile Zitha (second princess), Promise Madigo (miss public choice).

The teen winners are Itumeleng Phasha (queen), Amukelani Ngobeni (first princess), Palesa Mailula (second princess), Kamogelo Matabane (miss public choice).

Ndlovu added that the pageant will now be venturing to a national and international level to honour the late mother of the nation and her legacy.
