Build a hamburger at Intercare fun day
The fun day is the culmination of the festive season challenge hosted by MES and Intercare to collect goods for the homeless.

MES Kempton Park and Intercare Cavendish Glen will host a fun day for a good cause on November 30.
The fun day is the culmination of the festive season challenge hosted by MES and Intercare to collect goods for the homeless.
Says Ada Botes from Intercare, who is one of the organisers: “Let’s make a family day out of it. There will be loads of activities and entertainment for both kids and parents to enjoy.
“This includes face painting, performance by a clown and exhibitions by various owners within the mall. “The decorating of cupcakes competition for men and the building of hamburgers by kids will be a definite highlight of the day.
“In addition to this, the programme will be filled with line dancing by a group of residents from Allen Park, a martial arts performance, Clicks make-up demo and Mr Panda’s sushi.”
On the day, the winners of the festive season challenge will also be announced. This initiative challenges all schools and adults to collect the following items for the homeless in the spirit of Christmas: toiletries, cleaning materials, non-perishable food items and sweet treats.
The items can be dropped off at Intercare Glen Marais.
Prizes for the challenge include a floating trophy for the school that collects the most donations and has the best spirit. Learners who bring five or more items will be entered into the R2 000 cash prize draw and adults who bring five or more will be entered into a surprise lucky draw.
