Dove with sangoma attire found in Emfihlweni Section
Tembisa resident believes he might be cursed.
A community member is still reeling in shock after he found a dove with sangoma (traditional healer) attire, which included beads and cloth.
Godfery Mnguni, a resident at Emfihlweni Section, could not believe his own eyes when he woke up on Wednesday morning to find the dove in his yard.
Mnguni believes this is plain witchcraft.
The 60-year-old man said he never witnessed any voodoo magic in his life nor in his yard too.
“I believe this is a sign of someone gunning for me. The unfortunate part is that they got caught in daylight,” said Mnguni.
“I believe all the bad omens in my life and this incident are well connected, judging by recent personal battles I have been through.
“We’ll have to look into this matter, if possible, involve well-trained practitioners to perform a cleansing ceremony.
“We remain in danger hence the dove. Its intentions are not clear to us as a family,” added Mnguni.
“The community came to witness the shocking discovery and was advised to not touch it. Things like this disturb our faith. We are still confused. It might be a message from our ancestors, but I doubt,” said Mnguni.
A community member who didn’t want her name to be mentioned on record said in the olden days, they would burn the dove right on the spot.
“By knowledge, once the dove is dead, the so believed owner of it would soon follow. In that case, it would be clear who sent it,” said the anonymous woman.
