Grade Seven learners receive words of wisdom from Baleka Mbete
Former parliament speaker motivates learners.
Former national parliament speaker Baleka Mbete took some time off her busy schedule to give Grade Seven Sedi-Laka Primary School learners a pep talk.
Organised by the Kuzondlula Motivational Tour (KMT), the Kaalfontein-based primary school learners were armed with valuable lessons as they prepare for high school.
“You must remember that life out there is going to be challenging and there will be many temptations along the way. Life is going to test your discipline and when it does, remember the lessons you have learnt in the past seven years of your primary school education on how to stay focused. Continue to work hard and do your school work in high school so you can become better people,” she said.
Mbete added that learners should respect their teachers in high school. “You should respect your teachers as if they were your own parents,” she added.
The founder and CEO of KMT, Vuyo Sibiya, and his team led by head of staff Thulani Masingi and director of communications Reckson Mahori also
graced the farewell function; they also shared some words of wisdom with the little ones.
“KTM is committed to improving the lives of young people in disadvantaged communities across the country. I would like to commend the school’s management for the partnering with KMT and for making this day a success. We will continue to work with the school and help learners achieve greatness,” said Sibiya.
Also in attendance was SABC1’s YoTV presenter, Ketlego ‘Kat’ Ncala, who also encouraged those who did not do well not to give up hope but be inspired to work harder next year.
