Floating trophy up for grabs at MES Fun Day
There will be lots of fun for the whole family
MES (Mould Empower Serve) Kempton Park and Intercare Cavendish Glen would like to remind the Kempton Park Community about the upcoming fun day on November 30.
The event is set to start at 9.30am in the Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre parking area on Monument Road. A section of the parking area will be closed until 3pm.
On the day, the winners of the Festive Season Challenge will be announced. This initiative challenge all schools and residents to collect food and other items for the homeless in the spirit of Christmas.
Items can still be dropped off at Intercare Glen Marais.
A floating trophy is up for grabs for the school that collects the most donations and shows the best spirit. In addition, learners who bring five or more items will be entered into the R2 000 cash prize draw. Residents who bring five or more items will be entered into a surprise lucky draw.
“Let’s make a family day out of it,” says Ada Botes from Intercare Cavendish Glen and main organiser of the event, as there will be loads of activities and entertainment for both children and parents to enjoy.
“This includes face painting, a performance by a clown and exhibitions by various owners within the mall.”
There will also be a decorating cupcakes competition for men to be as creative as possible with only icing, and children will be building hamburgers, which will also be a definite tribute to the goodwill of the day.
“In addition, the programme will be filled with line dancing by a group of residents from Allen Park, a martial arts performance, Clicks make-up demonstration and Mr Panda’s sushi demonstration, as well as a self-defence workshop.”
