Police bring Operation o kae molao to Tembisa

Police arrest suspects during operation o kae molao.

One hundred and thirty seven members of Ekurhuleni district police stations, together with other law-enforcement members, led by Maj GenVincent Leshabane, continued to squeeze the space of criminals in the streets by holding ‘operation o kae molao’ in Tembisa areas on November 15.

Capt Nelda Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni district communications officer, said during the operation, two road blocks were conducted and traffic fines to the value of R14 400 were issued.

“Eight hundred and forty people were searched, 441 vehicles were also searched and two of them were impounded, illegal shebeens were raided and J534 forms to the value of R7 500 were issued to five suspects who were found selling liquor without a licence and their shebeens were closed.

“Another suspect was arrested for possession of suspected stolen properties, while other two suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs and possession of nyaope. Second-hand goods dealers were also visited for compliance,” said Capt Sekgobela.
