Conservation society’s popular 2020 wall calendar now on sale

The photograph was taken by Thornhill Estate resident Colin Parr

Modderfontein Conservation Society’s highly popular wall calendar for 2020 has been released, still at just R30.

The new calendar has, again, been supported by AEL Mining Services and features a beautiful, moody black and white photograph of a lone Zebra crossing the grasslands in the Modderfontein Reserve.

The photograph was taken by Thornhill Estate resident Colin Parr, who recently retired and devotes more time to his passion for nature photography.

Colin Parr took the photograph which features on the 2020 Modderfontein Conservation Society’s calendar.

He can often be found hauling his cameras and lenses around the reserve in the early morning light, determined to capture nature at its best. As a result, choosing the featured photo was described by the society’s committee as a lengthy but very pleasurable task of viewing Colin’s short list of pictures.

The calendar retains the same format as recent years – a wall calendar with space for noting appointments, making it not only visually attractive but also practical and useful.

Due to Modderfontein Post Office not being staffed, the calendars will be on sale at Cartridgeworx and Post Link in the new Flamingo Shopping Centre in Modderfontein Village.

“Both shops kindly agreed to help the conservation society with this, our largest annual fund-raiser,” said Robbie Vermont.

For further information, contact Vermont on 011 608 2693 or 082 800 3704.
