Anxious residents have formed long queues on the grounds waiting to be allocated to their shacks. Metro employees arrived on Wednesday morning to allocate the 430 newly built shacks.

While others rejoiced at their new homes, Express also witnessed a bit of unrest among the people gathered. At around noon there were about 30 people who were waiting in frustration as they did not appear on the allocation lists.

Some were heard stating that people would not move into the shacks until everyone had been allocated. Community leaders were also on site and said they hoped to resolve the issue of the ‘unregistered’ people.
