OR Tambo Airport shows its ready for peak season

The event provided an environment for passengers and airport users to understand how some of the security processes work.

OR Tambo International Airport and its security cluster stakeholders showcased their capabilities and readiness for the upcoming festive peak season at the central terminal building on Tuesday.

The awareness day consisted of presentations on the various roles and responsibilities of security officers, the latest products and services, static displays, as well as live demonstrations.

The event provided a conducive environment for passengers and airport users to understand how some of the security processes work, as well as giving an ideal platform to have face-to-face engagement.

Betty Maloka, senior manager of corporate affairs, said security remained one of the crucial elements at the airport, given its status as a National Key Point.

“All passengers and airport users were invited to visit some of the stalls and learn about the innovative products and services the security cluster has in store to ensure safety and security is not compromised,” said Maloka.
