Two cyclists killed in early morning accident on Isando Road
It is believed they were struck by a taxi
Two beloved members of the Boksburg and Benoni communities were killed while cycling on Isando Road on early on Saturday morning.
Frans Duys and Janine Hopkins were cycling on a tandem when hit by a taxi.
Boksburg High School expressed its condolences on social media at the passing of Hopkins, the school’s deputy principal.
“We offer condolences to her family, friends, colleagues and learners, both past and present. Jan made a positive difference in the lives of all she encountered and will be greatly missed.”
Duys was the owner of Tour de Frans Cycles in Benoni and a member of Vikings Cycling Club.
