R2-million drug bust made at Rhodesfield ‘cook house’

Benoni Flying Squad takes woman into custody.

A Rhodesfield woman (43) was arrested on Saturday afternoon after drugs, chemicals and equipment used to manufacture drugs worth R2-million were found on the property.

WO Grant Giblin, spokesperson for Benoni Flying Squad (BFS), said they made the bust around 2pm on Gauntlet Street after following up on information received.

On the premises they seized around 400g of dry Cat, about 10kg of wet Cat, 25 litres of chemicals as well as equipment used in the manufacturing of these drugs.

“The seizure is valued at around two R2-m,” said Giblin.

“These types of premises are referred to as ‘cook houses’ because of the way the drugs are prepared.”
