The man accused of beheading his girlfriend in April had been transferred to Sun City Prison in Johannesburg, awaiting trial.
Murder accused Elhadji Adama Kebe (31) was transferred from the Kempton Park SAPS holding cells on November 12.
Kebe, who allegedly beheaded his girlfriend in their flat in April and left her head in the fridge, was arrested at his place of work on West Street shortly after the body of Sibongile Zenzile (28) was discovered on April 26.

After several appearances in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court, the matter was transferred to the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg following the decision by the director of public prosecutions.
Kebe is facing two charges, one for murder and another for the violation of a corpse.
The magistrate told the court the allegation was that on April 25, Kebe unlawfully and intentionally stabbed Zenzile several times and killed her.
The second count is one of violating a corpse where the allegation is that the accused unlawfully tried to dispose of Zenzile’s body by cutting off her head and placing it in the fridge.
The matter was transferred to the South Gauteng High Court for pre-trial on December 12.
Zenzile’s stepfather, Zamelani Ncancashe, also attended court on November 12.
“This has been very hard for me and Zenzile’s mother, Buyiswa. She often doesn’t feel well the day or night before the matter goes back to court. She [Zenzile] won’t come back, but our wish is for justice so we can have closure,” said Zamelani.
