Truck spills potato load at Voortrekker Road off-ramp on the R21

A truck transporting potatoes has overturned at the Voortrekker Road off-ramp on the R21 earlier this afternoon.

The metro police are currently on the scene redirecting traffic, as both the on and off-ramps are affected with potatoes strewn all over the road.

According to information from the scene the driver was travelling alone from Pretoria direction and took the off-ramp at Voortrekker Road. The one trailer apparently started tipping over and he slowed down. However, it was too late. The other trailer also tipped, pulling the entire truck onto its side.

The driver is unharmed and got out of the truck himself.

Motorists should rather avoid the area.
