Annual Christmas soup kitchen brings joy to the homeless

Despite the rainy weather, over 500 food parcels were handed out

Operation Anti-Freeze’s annual Christmas soup kitchen did an amazing job of ensuring that families and homeless people all over Kempton Park had a feel of Christmas with presents and food in Kempton Park CBD last week Thursday.

Operation Anti-Freeze is a non-profit organisation that is committed to being socially relevant by being involved in uplifting the Ekurhuleni community and schools that find themselves in the desperate situation of being unable to provide for, and take care of the huge needs of the people in their care.

Despite the rainy weather, over 500 food parcels were handed out at Operation Anti-Freeze’s Christmas soup kitchen.

Each person received a hot dog, cool drink, food parcel and balls for children to take home.

“It went really well. At the heart of the community are good people willing to dedicate their time and money to support those in need. We really like to thank everyone involved,” said Hilary Carhart, project coordinator and fund-raiser.
